A Preview of The Experiment with R. Michael Anderson
A summary of things you should know about The Experiment according to R Michael Anderson:
Introduction
In this episode R Michael Anderson takes you on a deep dive into his book, The Experiment where he teaches you how to create an ideal work-life balance, turn bad habits into good habits, build relationships, and get more done in less time.
In his book, Anderson tells a modern-day business fable about Dennis, a business owner who is separated from his spouse, out of shape, burned out, and just living a dreary life. As you read the notes Dennis take in his sessions with Robert, use them as exercises to effectively transform your own life.
This book is perfect for entrepreneurs who are experiencing the downfalls of success and are seeking a different approach to finding joy in their work life.
The Book’s Unique Quality (3:18)
My book is written in a story form so it is really quick and easy to read. It’s also packed full of real life scenarios. All the stuff I talk about in this book I have been through.
The Best Way To Engage (4:26)
Since it is a story and can be read so quickly I would suggest the reader read it from beginning to end.
The Reader’s Takeaway (14:23)
I want people to start experimenting with their lives. If something is not working the way you want it to try other things. You need to realize that it may succeed and it may fail but just put yourself out there and be ok with the traditional concept of failure.
A Deep Dive Into The Book (7:04)
The Experiment is about a guy name Dennis who is the everyday entrepreneur. The struggles that Dennis goes through in this book are the most common struggles that I went through in my personal life.
Dennis is separated from his spouse who has recently moved out with the kids. He is going through cash flow issues, drinking too much, struggling with being overweight and finds himself with no passion. Dennis feels like he’s just fixing problems and not working on any solutions.
By chance Dennis gets connected with a business coach who guides him through a series of events to help him improve his life and get through his current struggles. The book takes you through three sessions in detail. The first session is about Dennis’ outlook on life, second session is how he’s looking at his problems and the last session is the solutions to those problems. After each session there is a three question exercise for you to do.
We talk about ownership, control and compassion. When we can figure out what in our life we can control and what we can’t our life completely changes. I also teach you how to change the voice in the back of your head to build you up instead of bring you down because when we can come into this kind and loving relationship with ourselves everything else in the world changes. From there we talk about experiments. If we call the changes that we want to make in our lives experiments, they are much easier to do. The only way to fail in an experiment is to not try it.

The Credibility/Inspiration Of The Author (0:38)
I’ve always been good at achieving but I found myself not happy. I hit my low point in life and knew I needed to change something. I ended up earning my masters in spiritual psychology and now I teach competitive driven people how to become happier.
The Experiment is a story that I relate to in my own personal life. I teach entrepreneurs skills I’ve learned and also help them go through some of the tough changes I’ve gone through.
